urged into existence

These paintings are part of an ongoing series that I revisit periodically. Tapping into the vague notions trapped in my mind, they are sometimes near-abstract with clues of representation that hint towards a narrative. Some are more obvious than others, much like a dramatic mystery; bright and loose, very fluid, painted flat on a horizontal surface and smeared into recognition.  The color palette and patterning coerced into symbolically supporting the mood of the work.
